Getting Spirited

By Hannah Forestell ’17

From October 3 to October 6, a small group of grads ran mini spirit events during lunch. On Monday October 3, the classic “donut-on-a-string” game was played in Upper Hadden Hall where a donut is tied to a piece of string and then the student must eat the donut – the catch is, they can’t use their hands. There were many laughs as the yummy competition took place.

Tuesday truly embodied “like-no-other” as we threw pies in both staff and students faces – for absolutely no reason! However, it was definitely worth licking the whip cream off your own face – very sweet! The look of shock on the pied students faces was priceless and you could here the shrieks throughout the hallway.

Wednesday was a relaxed day where the grads walked around the school offering snacks to students working away on their projects, athletes on their way to practice, and play actors who were about to go to practice their vocals.

Since Thursday was the last day before the Thanksgiving break, the grads decided to host a “Thanksgiving Social” in the hallway – a chance to bring the community together before parting ways for a few days. There was music, dancing, snacks and bonding.

Overall, the mini-events that were run were a great success and it is exciting to think about what is coming up in the next couple weeks!
