LCS Students Run with Purpose at the Peterborough CIBC Run for the Cure

On Sunday, October 1, CIBC hosted its annual Run for the Cure at Del Crary Park in Peterborough, Ontario. Five students and four staff competed in the event, while an additional 12 students volunteered to help facilitate the race. As a team, our students raised $406.50 for the fundraiser.

At Lakefield College School, we aim to instill the value of service in our students. We believe that leaders serve others and that we have a responsibility to our local, national and global communities. The CIBC Run for the Cure is just one example of the many opportunities our students have to give back to our local community members. Through a myriad of volunteer opportunities, our clean casual days (in which money donated to participate in donning casual wear is donated to a charity), and our many community partnerships, we are proud of our students for their commitment to service learning.
