Tuition Assistance

Your support puts our students first.

Just like the alumni that came before them, today’s students have the opportunity to experience a transformative education at The Grove—encouraged by their teachers and mentors, inspired to cultivate their passions, and challenged to reach their individual potential in mind, body, and spirit.

A robust tuition assistance program strengthens our entire school community by ensuring that promising teenagers can attend LCS regardless of their family’s financial circumstances. We take great pride in being able to provide over $2.3M in tuition assistance to 1 in 3 students each year.

The greatest impact you can make is by supporting student bursaries and helping make Lakefield accessible to more promising young people. Every gift—large or small—truly matters.
The gratitude and appreciation I have is beyond words. Without your generosity, Lakefield College School would have remained just a dream instead of my reality, in which I treasure every day. Thank you for allowing me to have this opportunity; I take it very seriously and hope to be able to repay this gift to another student someday to provide the same opportunity that I was given.

  • Endowed Fund and Bursaries

An endowed fund is one in which donations are held in an interest bearing investment for perpetuity and only the interest is spent. Sometimes an endowed gift is called "a gift that never stops giving"—and rightfully so.

A strong endowment exemplifies the shared belief among our community that all promising young people can have access to a Lakefield education. We know that exceptional students are defined by their passion, enthusiasm and spirit, not their socioeconomic background.

Lakefield College School’s endowment stands at more than $42 million — one of the highest endowments per capita among Canadian boarding schools and reflective of the extraordinary gifts that our philanthropic leaders invest to transform the lives of students today and for generations to come. In addition to funding tuition assistance, the endowment supports key programs that are integral to the mission and values of LCS. This includes, but is not limited to, such things as learning support, professional development, leadership studies, technology, international affairs, expeditions and more.
  • Expendable Bursaries

In contrast to a gift made towards an endowed bursary, an expendable bursary is one in which the entire gift is expended upon receipt of the gift, benefiting LCS students immediately.
  • Combined Bursaries

A combined bursary includes an endowed and expendable gift.  A portion of the gift is disbursed immediately, another portion endowed in perpetuity.
