Our Katchewanooka Rod (K-Rod) took place Friday, February 7, carrying on an annual tradition of the Lakefield College School’s version of the Iditarod. One musher pulled by six students from each paper house participated in slalom, long-distance and sprint races on Matthews Field. Teams must cross the finish line with all members present, either on or pulling the sled. The festivities included live music accompanying the races and a fireworks display to end the night.
K-Rod is a spirit event unique to LCS which helps us to get outdoors and enjoy the winter season together. The combination of music, fireworks and festivity makes it a special evening to enjoy time in community with one another.
