Congratulations to our 2021/22 Co-Head Students

At LCS, our vision is “to inspire teenagers to become leaders who care, connect and contribute” – in their community and beyond. We deliver on this vision through authentic, experiential learning practices designed to educate the whole person and provide students with the experience and confidence to pursue their goals. One of the ways our students gain this experience is through participation in elected leadership positions at LCS.

Over the past few weeks, our Grade 11 students have engaged in the traditional process of leadership by considering their upcoming roles as senior students of Lakefield in Fall 2021. One of the first steps in the overall process is to elect our new Co-Head Students.

The election to select the Co-Head Students for the 2021/22 year was held this week.

Congratulations to Sarah Jiang ’22 and David Crispo ’22 who were elected by their peers and staff in the vote that took place on Tuesday morning. Both Sarah and David are excited about being selected as Co-Head Students and they are looking forward to leading the student body next year.

Sarah shared her gratitude for the support of the LCS community: "I am extremely grateful and thankful for all the support I have received from everyone. It just shows me, once again, how great of a community LCS is. I can't wait to collaborate with everyone to make next school one of the best yet! This truly means so much to me and I am so honoured to represent our students. Get ready for an exciting year!"

David is also thrilled to be leading the student body for the 2021/22 school year. "Lakefield has brought me so many opportunities and taught me a lot about leadership. I am really excited to give back to this community as it's my home away from home. I want to hear what my peers have to say and to implement their input. I am honoured that the school has put their trust in me and I am grateful for the opportunity. Let's have a great year!"

We extend our congratulations, also, to each of the nominated candidates who shared their perspectives of leadership with the school in Monday’s Chapel. Kate Bemrose, Olivia Cantelon, Jonty Harris, and Ben Kaefer are to be commended for their service to the school.

We look forward to the leadership by the Class of 2022 next year!
