Chemistry Fun

By Melissa Rathier

The AP Chemistry class enjoyed a lab experience on Wednesday afternoon in the form of a party.

After sports, the students gathered in the lab for anywhere from 3-5 hours (what an incredibly determined group of students!). The purpose was to identify ions present in an unknown solution. The labour intensive process involved systematically separating and testing for 8 possible ions in the solution. Taking lots of breaks to enjoy snacks, made the seemingly endless task fun.

Every group was able to correctly identify their mystery solution and left with party with smiles and loot bags (of course!).
