Jr. Boys’ Hockey
Coaches Bryan Yantha, Dave Costello
On Wednesday February 18, the Jr. Boys’ Hockey team played Upper Canada College in a rematch of last week’s game. The boys were looking to add two points to their overall total and keep their playoff hopes alive. UCC opened the scoring early in the game, but Joe Gennaro answered with a tying goal set-up by Taylor Walsh with 4:16 left in the first. UCC countered with a goal just over a minute later retaking the lead 2-1 in the first. With just over a minute left Matthew Lovick tied the game on a goal assisted by Joe Gennaro. Zack Masciangelo was able to give LCS the lead, scoring a goal assisted by Trevor Smith with 42 seconds left in the period. In the second period the boys were unable to capitalize on their scoring chances and went into the third period down 5-3. The LCS boys continued to battle hard and play determined hockey, bringing themselves within one goal twice in the third. A determined Matthew Lovick scored his second of the game on a short-handed snipe and Tristan Walsh scored with a breakaway dangle. Unfortunately the boys were unable to complete the comeback and lost 7-5 in a hard fought game. The team will look to finish the season with a win when they host Trinity College School on Saturday.

Coaches: Nichola Bendle, Borana Sarcevic
The 2nd Girls’ Volleyball team hosted Toronto French School on Wednesday afternoon, and came away with the win! The girls played well throughout the entire match, keeping their communication and spirits positive, even when a member of the team had an injury in the middle of the third set. Highlights of the game include: Shelly’s awesome dives, Becka stepping up and playing great in the setting position, Fiona’s sneaky serves, Reyna’s great passes, Christina stepping in to play middle and all the support for the bench! You can watch the entire game, which was live streamed, online!
