9 Years in a Row!

Congratulations to the Class of 2014!

In what has become a celebrated Grove tradition, the Class of 2014 has helped to support future students by creating a Class Bursary – with 100% participation! No other Canadian independent school has been able to match such an incredible achievement.

This year’s Grad Class Gift had two goals: the grads each donated $20.14 to create the Class of 2014 Bursary, which goes directly towards supporting Financial Assistance and additionally, some elected to donate $10.00 towards a material gift – our new mascot, the Lakefield Terrapin!

Not only have the Class of 2014 made an incredible gesture of support in their final year on campus, but over 80% of the Grads have committed to continue giving back to the school as part of a five-year pledge. This generosity, paired with the soon-to-launch Hepburn Alumni Challenge will help realize a total impact of over $240,000, which is truly historic!

The Class of 2014 also issued a challenge to their parents: if the class could achieve 100% participation, would they consider boosting the class gift? 33% of parents answered the call – an amazing feat, helping to grow the Class of 2014 Bursary! Thank you parents!

As students and parents made their gifts they had the option to include a ‘shoutout’ to honour a member of the Grove community with their gift. Shoutouts were displayed on the digital message boards around campus to help share these great messages. It is only fitting to send a special shoutout to Jaron Kaller and Hayley Shortly, co-head students, for their dedication and support of this initiative!

Congratulations to the Class of 2014 for inspiring so many through your kindness and generosity!
