Teacher Appreciation Week at LCS

It’s #TeacherAppreciationWeek and we want to acknowledge the incredible teachers at LCS. Anyone who has been to Lakefield knows that what makes the school special truly is the people.

In a year of unpredictability, we are so grateful for our teachers’ hard work and support. They have had such an impact on our students and have provided a much-needed sense of community and connection during a time of constant change.

To each of our teachers, thank you for all that you do!

Throughout the week, we shared some of the gratitude our students expressed in regard to their teachers.

“Mr. Gordon always takes time for each student and makes sure they are doing well.” - Mo Asche ’22

“Thank you to Mr. McGowan for all the time and effort he puts in for Matthews House and all of LCS.” - Hayden Canning

“I want to thank Ms. Brown for being such a nice teacher and mentor...even during times like this where everything can seem hard, she makes class feel very relaxed and calm.” - Amelia Peng ’23

“Thank you to all the teachers who have helped me achieve my best this year.” - Maddie Brock ’23

Gratitude for LCS teachers has also been echoed throughout the Chapel Talks given by our Grads this year:

“Thank you to Ms. Connelly, Jess, Rhiannon, Val, Ms. Brown, and all of my teachers who have seen the potential in me and given me your support throughout my time here at LCS. It has benefited me in ways you may not be able to see but it has helped me while working towards self growth, realization towards my purpose and who I truly am.” - Abbey Murray ’21

“Ms. Andras: Sometimes I forget that you're an adult and not actually a teenager for how easy you make it to have fun and talk with you. You have helped me with so much during the 3 years you have been my advisor. Thank you for being there for all of my crying and ranting sessions. I don't know what i'm going to do without you next year. Thank you for making my years at lake field very special.” - Sawsan Attyani ’21

“The teachers and staff at this school have truly done more than their job in helping me throughout my years here.” - Nate Mills ’21

“To Jess, Ms Connelly, Ms. Runza and all the teachers who have taught me these past two years. Thank you all for supporting me. You guys are the best and give us so many chances to grow and be who we want to be. You all go the extra mile especially this year to make our years enjoyable and I cannot thank you enough for that.” - Sydney Rankin ’21

Thank you LCS teachers for all that you do! These quotes barely scratch the surface in showing how grateful our students are for your guidance and support every day.
