LCS Grade 9 Art Classes Learn from Local Artist, Jason Wilkins

On Monday, April 4, local illustrator, live event artist, muralist, and workshop instructor, Jason Wilkins joined our Grade 9 Integrated Arts class to talk about his work, his career, and his advice for those interested in working in the arts.

“Jason graduated from the Sheridan College Interpretative Illustration program in 2001 and has spent the last 20 years working with clients such as Adidas, Lululemon, Toronto Blue Jays, Scotiabank, H&M, and many more. His creative approach and the messaging behind his work focus on spreading positivity through bold lines and pops of colour” (Wilkins Art & Creative).

Jason shared images of his work with students and talked about the importance of finding "your thing" and working hard to develop it. Jason encouraged our students to keep a positive attitude as they tackled challenges throughout their lives. Sharing that, "being adaptable, open-minded, and passionate" will lead them to find success and to "keep your head up, keep hustling, and to enjoy every moment."

Thank you, Jason, for taking the time to speak with our young artists.
