Packaging Pollinator Seeds | The LCS Seeds for Bees Project
In February, we were excited to announce that our “Seeds for Bees” project was selected by 24 Good Deeds Charity advent calendar to receive donations.
This project is important to our students and broader community not only because of our love for honey (anyone who has tasted some of The Grove’s fresh honey will understand!) but also because the importance of creating pollinator pathways and maintaining the biodiversity of pollinators and native plants in the area is increasingly urgent.
On April 22, Lakefield’s Earth Day celebration, students packaged 1,500 seeds for the Seeds for Bees project. Over 4,000 of these packages will be delivered to new residential developments in the local area.
Our students were excited to be a part of this meaningful project. They spent the afternoon in the Grove, socializing with their peers as they hand-packaged the seeds in LCS sachets.
