Movember 2022

LCS has participated in the Movember campaign since 2010 with two key goals: to raise money for the Movember campaign and to raise awareness about men’s physical and mental wellbeing. This year, our students participated in the Movember Polar Dip, they sold moustache-printed socks and donated the proceeds to Movember, and they participated in a Clean Casuals day in support of the Movember campaign. Throughout the month, these activities served as catalysts for conversations about men’s health and provided opportunities to comfortably approach issues that have historically been stigmatized by society. Thank you to all of our students and staff who participated in Movember activities this month and thank you to Mr. MacNicol for taking the lead on this important initiative.

About Movember
Movember is a global organization that helps raise awareness and funds for men’s mental and physical wellbeing. Though focussed on men’s health, we view it as a community-wide initiative that addresses overall health and wellbeing. This initiative encourages awareness and fundraising through conversation, movement, and for some, the chance to grow a moustache for the very first time. The Movember initiative also supports a variety of organizations around the world with a focus on mental health, youth initiatives, and prostate and testicular cancer research—find out more about how Movember uses the funds!
