Grade 9 and 10 Mathematics Results

LCS Grade 9 and 10 students have had a busy year, immersing themselves in various mathematics competitions and showcasing their exceptional skills. From local contests to regional and even national-level events, our students have consistently displayed their mathematical prowess and determination. Their hard work and dedication have resulted in numerous successes, with many of them achieving top rankings and earning recognition for their outstanding performances. We commend our talented mathematicians for their remarkable achievements and look forward to their continued success in future competitions.


American Mathematics Contest 10 (AMC 10)

A multiple choice contest for students in grades 9 and 10 that is written in November; organized by the Mathematical Association of America. The maximum possible score is 150.

Canadian Intermediate Mathematics Contest

A long answer contest typically written by students in grades 9 and 10 that occurs in November, organized by the University of Waterloo. Responses are assessed not just for a correct final answer, but for the form, style, and clarity of the entire solution. The maximum possible score is 60.

Zone Team Champions 
The combined score of this group of five students earned Lakefield College School a 1st place result in our area of Ontario, which includes all schools in Pickering, Port Hope, Whitby, Lindsay, Peterborough, Courtice, Bowmanville, Port Perry, Oshawa, and the Haliburton area.

Note: The LCS team score was 219 out of a maximum possible score of 300, good for first place in our zone (5 points above Trinity College School!), and 39th place overall in all of Ontario.

Lakefield College School is a private, coeducational boarding and day school for students in grades 9 through 12, located in Lakefield, Ontario, Canada.
